Reliable and easy to maintain

This app made our reporting setup much more stable. We can define and reuse data sources directly in Salesforce, work with larger datasets, and use incremental refresh instead of reloading everything. The initial setup required some admin help, but day-to-day use is straightforward and has significantly reduced maintenance on the Power BI side.

Very practical and well-designed app

Power BI Connector for Salesforce is a very practical and well-designed app for teams that need a reliable way to bring Salesforce data into Power BI. It makes the data export process much more structured by allowing users to choose the exact objects, fields, and filters they need instead of moving unnecessary data. I also like that it supports both standard and custom Salesforce objects, which makes it flexible for different reporting scenarios. The ability to manage multiple data sources is useful when different teams or dashboards require different datasets. Features like export history, relationship visualization, access token management, and incremental refresh make the connector feel suitable for real business use, not just basic data transfer. The setup is clear, and the app gives Salesforce admins and analysts better control over how data is shared with Power BI. Overall, this is a helpful solution for organizations that want to build stronger analytics, dashboards, and reporting workflows based on their Salesforce data.

Powerful Salesforce Connector

Great app for connecting Salesforce data to Power BI. The setup is straightforward, data export works reliably, and it saves a lot of time when building reports and dashboards. The interface is very user-friendly, and the documentation is exceptionally well written, making the onboarding process smooth and efficient.

What got me was how little glue code this needs.

You pick the objects and fields in Salesforce, publish, and out comes a Power Query script for an OData feed — no custom API work, no extra middleware, no asking an analyst to moonlight as an integration engineer. Schema changes on the Salesforce side stop being a problem too, since the connector handles them instead of quietly breaking a dashboard. If you just need Salesforce data to show up in Power BI and stay there, this does the job.

This product is solid and does exactly what it claims to do

We replaced a combination of CSV exports and our custom integration with this tool, which we installed from AppExchange. The ERD view is incredibly helpful when selecting fields from related objects, significantly reducing the guesswork before loading anything into Power BI. Since permissions respect existing Salesforce roles, we didn’t have to rebuild access logic for the analytics side, simplifying our security review. Highly recommend this tool!

Rolled this app out to fix our pipeline reporting

The native Salesforce Reports connector kept hitting the 2,000-row limit and every report had its own dataset logic, so numbers never matched. Setup from AppExchange took maybe five minutes - generated a token, built a data source on Opportunity + OpportunityHistory + User + Account with the custom fields we actually needed, pasted the M script into Power BI Desktop, and it ran clean on the first try. Incremental refresh on OpportunityHistory was the real win, reloads dropped from half an hour to a couple of minutes. Permissions also just inherit from Salesforce, so no separate access layer to maintain. One gripe: would be nice to preview data inside the data source config without bouncing into Power BI. Otherwise, first setup in a long time where the pipeline dashboard isn't a fire drill every QBR.
