Abelian ties every contract to the funds that pay for it. Contracts are created from templates, routed for approval, and tracked across multi year terms and performance periods. Amendments carry their own approval path and adjust budgets. One contract can draw on several funding sources at once. Each stream is tracked separately, and a spend down order controls which restricted funds are consumed first. Budgets break into line items, each with its own fund assignment. Providers submit invoices through a self service portal against the line items they draw from. Each invoice is checked against remaining balances before approval and splits by funding source, so federal programs carry their documentation separately. Compliance documents carry expiration reminders, and purchase orders issue against approved line items.
