NOT WORKING!

Salesforce, please, please, please fix your goddamn app. This is essential for your Data Security module, but it doesn't even work like it supposed to. I cannot enable edit access to everything like what your module told me to, some of the fields are gone, and some are even mislabeled. What is wrong with this app? Did a kid gets access to it and messed everything up?

App doesn't work

I’m currently working through the Data Security module as part of my prep for the Salesforce Associate Credential exam, and I’ve run into some major issues that I feel need to be addressed for future learners. First, the module instructions are unclear and nowhere does it mention that the Recruiting App needs to be installed in order to complete certain challenges. I spent a frustrating amount of time troubleshooting and digging through forums before realizing that the app was the missing piece. Unfortunately, even after installing it, the experience has only gotten worse. The Recruiting App does not function properly. Many of the required objects and fields are either missing or not configured as expected, making it impossible to complete some of the challenges (including the Data Security one). This isn’t just a minor glitch; it’s a blocker that prevents progress and creates a lot of unnecessary confusion for new Salesforce learners. If you’re just starting out, please be aware that you might not be able to complete this challenge as it’s currently written. It’s not your fault!!!! The app simply doesn’t work as intended. My advice? Read through the module, take detailed notes to learn the concepts, and then move on. Don’t waste valuable time trying to get the Recruiting App to work, you’ll only end up frustrated. Salesforce Trailhead team: I strongly urge you to either fix this issue or provide clear guidance and updated links so learners don’t hit this wall.

Horrible package and horrible safety module at Trailhead. Does not function properly

It is horrible. You require this tool to continue with the data security module in Salesforce Trailhead, however they never tell you to install it, you have to guess, and to top it off, it doesn't work at all well, it doesn't let you complete the whole module at all. More than a criticism of the very bad content of this package, it is also a criticism of the wording of the Salesforce Trailhead data security module, we are learning we are not experts, if we were we would not take a guide that lacks instructions.

Very simple app, but useful nonetheless!

This app consist of just four custom objects with a few essential links between them. It does need a bit of work to show essential data in highlight panels, but it's a very decent basis to build a simple recruitment app on. Good work Salesforce!

Provides the function we needed

With minimal configuration, we were able to use the Recruiting App immediately, and it suited our needs to track applicants, status and outcomes. A good solution for us.

A good start at a recruiting app

The app has most of the basic information needed to track a candidate through the recruiting/onboarding process. The app also allows you to customize your solution. The app doesn't seem to be geared toward the other side of the coin, and that is off-boarding employees. For many companies, a vacancy due to someone resigning or being let go is what necessitates the recruiting of a new candidate. The app could make some minor additions to include the off-boarding as well.
