Love this App - but is it now no longer supported by Google Maps

Received a message this morning that Google Maps API is no longer supporting this product. Is this true?

Hi, I was able to fix it in my customer's org, you just need to set the Google key to blank. Go to Setup/Develop/Components/ and click Edit on GoogleMapsInternational (you might want to Clone first and save as a backup). Change the line under as follows: <apex:attribute name="googleMapAPIKey" description="Google maps API key needed to generate map, sign up at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html" type="string" default=""/> (before it said: type="string" default="AIzaSyDNBhg1Qu0L9DmWjWmsNfghvbxVpbqVzw0"/>

Does not give address coordinates

After having a hard time installing it (patches, API 2 not working anymore) I need this app to create coordiantes of the addresses. Here is the reason: I would like to use an app like Geopoint/MapAnything that would give me the best route but the problem is that, since my addresses are in Mexico, they use MapQuest or Navtech which does not have the best address accuracy in Mexico when Google Maps is the best. The only thing I need is to be able to get the coordinates of a given address so I can use Geopointe/MapAnything. Please help!

Does not work with Chrome and IE

Can someone show me what to do to make this work, not per browser session by manually allow "show all content", in Chrome and in IE? Firefox is fine. Thanks!

I didn't need to edit the VF Component. 1. Go to "Setup->Create->Custom Labels->GMI_googleMapURL" 2. Edit the value to "https://maps.google.com" ***The default value is "http", but it seems Chrome only works with the "https" URL***

Not sure if it is just a fluke, but this worked for me: (1) eliminate the second parameter in the vf component as directed by Jean Carlos Duque. (2) go to setup->create->custom labels->GMI_googleMapURL and edit the value to https://maps.google.com.

Great App

Is it also possible to estimate the account route and to find all near account on one route?

Grey box, whatever I do

I followed all instructions to the letter, including https://github.com/boxfoot/Salesforce-GoogleMaps-3. Used IE, Firefox and (my default) Chrome. Tried the easiest application of it: Show map on Account-object. I guess it should be easy to link it to any other object, by creating a new page and using any other object as the controller. First things first though: I can't get anything but a grey box on Account. With key, without key; with key github-component or with my own Google API-key... I'm using a dev-org but that shouldn't be an issue. Any thought or suggestions, anyone?

Nope. BING doesnt work either. BUT the BING TEST DRIVE does produce a blue box instead of a grey box.

I just spent 2 hours try to figure this out. Turns out I should have read your post above b/c I did all that too to no avail. Just now I went through the TEST DRIVE and that does even populate a map! Does the BING version work?

Works Great

I installed this for a client and it works great. Fairly easy install for beginners. Does anyone know how to get it to work with GPS coordinates though?

Best map app

Switched over from the Bing Maps app. Doesn't have the Bird's Eye View but it's nice that we can scroll down the page without the inline VF component stopping the scroll and zooming in on the map.

Salesforce International Mapping

Easy to install following the directions from previous reviewers. Thanks to them, it was a snap to get it up and running.

Works perfectly fine - Instructions here...

The App is (and works) great - just the documentation is a bit sparse... Here is what I did to get it to work: 1. Install and make sure to give all users access during the installation. 2. Go to https://code.google.com/apis/console and login with your Google account 3. Create a Project 4. Go to 'API Access' and copy the key from the 'Simple API Access' section 5. Go back to Salesforce and follow the instructions in the 'International Mapping Setup' tab that comes with the installation. 6. Test & Enjoy!
