Page breaks ?

We have not tried this solution yet. Before taking this step, we wanted to know if it is possible to insert page breaks in the templates so as to avoid having, for example, a table slit into 2 pages ? Page breaks do not exist in standard Quote Templates for PDF generation. Regards,

Top Selling Point says "Generate a PDF from any Salesforce record"

While the top point says "Generate a PDF from any Salesforce record" As far as I can so far tell, its only for Quote and Opportunities? Salesforce already has an out of the box Quote Template for PDF Quotes. My goal is finding a method to create a OK PDF template from any Salesforce Record.

Hi Stephen, Currently there is an issue with having to have Orders enabled to initially install the PDFer App. I am currently in conversation with Salesforce as this should not be the case. Until this is sorted, a workaround is to have Orders enabled, can install the App, then once installed, just disable Orders again. Hope this helps. The Coolhandcoders Team.

I tried to install PDFer in our Sandbox to take it for a spin. Install was unsuccessful, as we don not have orders enabled in our Org. Workaround?

Purchase Order

If I was to create a custom object for Purchase Order with PO Line items with a master/detail relationship to Opportunity could I create a Purchase Order pdf? Or does it always relate back to fields on the Quote object? As an alternative I am looking at creating Quote record types, one for Quote and one for Purchase Order and use the standard Quote templates to create a PO template.

There are a lot of improvements to be made

The basic idea of this plugin is really great as the generation of PDF files in Salesforce is still pretty problematic, so the approach with the Visualforce page and renderAs still remains a gold standard. However, because the engine that generates PDFs in Salesforce doesn't support CSS3, it can be really problematic to achieve professional-looking templates. What is more, we really need the proper support of non-Latin characters. For example, with Arial Unicode MS, you cannot use bold font for non-Latin characters: https://trailblazer.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000DfdiAAC All these limitations make it hard to get most of the Salesforce platform for a variety of customers.

PDF Works Great, Sending not

Easy install. Creating PDF on SF mobile works brilliant, I can't see how I can send the created PDF (from mobile)

Error installing the app

I am getting the following error when trying to install the app in production: This package contains a page that cannot be installed in an organization that has Advanced Currency Management enabled. Is there some workaround besides disabling the Advance Currency Management in our instance? Thanks,

Hi Andres, My meeting confirmed that I have taken steps on my side to allow this to install in Professional and Essentials but the functionality is still not working. Sorry for the inconvenience but there is not much I can do now. Only editions that support apex will be able to install at the moment.

Hi Andres, thank you for this feedback. You're correct, this app does not currently work with Professional Edition out-of-the-box. I just changed the listing info to reflect that. My understanding is that this app should be able to install in Professional Edition out-of-the-box so I have a meeting in 2 days to try to address this issue and I hope to have better news here for you soon.

Contacting Customer Service

I will change this to a 5 star once you get back. But I need to know if you can organize the rows by any field in the quote line items object? Native Salesforcde only sorts by product not by other fields like location. So that is my question.

Hi Jon, that will be do-able if you customize our code (our code is visible so that it can be customized if you have some Apex/VF skills). If you want to do that out-of-the-box, that is not currently supported but it is noted as a feature request. If you want to add that functionality here's a suggestion we have on how to achieve it: You will just need to write a more robust query to return those results. Then you just feed those results back into html.
