Express is Awesome
I have really enjoyed using Express. I think that is offers a great solution to those operating with a smaller sales team. The product gives the sales team visibility into their compensation easily. Additionally, it is fairly straightforward for the admin to make changes, adjustments, update plans, etc. I have been happy with the tool and look forward to using other Xactly solutions.
Spreadsheets are easier
We purchased this with the expectations of making employees more productive, provide regular updates of performance and related compensation to finance and sales, allowing reps to easily see what they have been paid, what they are/will be earning, and preventing the need for managing comp via spreadsheets. After 8+ months of what seemed like trial and error, still won't work for us. Lots of manual manipulation to get files to load, lots of wait time for calcs to occur, lots of reconciliation outside of the platform, lots of manual adjustments within the platform to get the calcs "right", statements are difficult for most people to understand, the pods depicting performance, earning, or pay are VERY limited. Takes months for issues to get resolved. First question was always "what was the commission for the deal supposed to be?" Couldn't get past the fact that no one deal was wrong when you have volume tiers or quota attainment incentives. Do not recommend this platform for any customer who has quarterly plans, because you must close each month and it will calc at the rate for the month and not adjust properly for the total quarter. Particularly challenging with pay accelerators. You will have to do shadow accounting outside the platform so you know what adjustments to make manually to correct the earnings/payments. We were told this would work for us. We found that to be untrue. Based no our experience we would only consider this product in the future if we met these conditions: - Only paying on the total opportunity value of a won deal in Salesforce - Rates of payout are flat or simple enough to do in your head - Earnings and payouts are based on calendar month - Don't have clawbacks or so few it can be managed manually - Excel or Sheets is no longer an option I really wish after all these months it could've worked - we were very patient for the first 6 months. But now we are just very disappointed.
Easy to use!
Simplified and accurate system. Express enables easy tracking of sales compensation info. Feedback has been good so far.
Great solution for certain size businesses
I purchased and implemented Express around 3 years ago. It has been a total game changer automating and standardizing reporting for commissions. This is the perfect solution if you do not need all of the added features that Incent offers. Express is also a great first step if you are thinking about purchasing comp automation software, but are not yet fully ready to commit to Incent. Overall this has freed up a large chunk of my time to focus on other value add jobs within the sales ops role.
Express makes compensation easy
I have been using Express for about 10 months. Since we implemented Express the process has been simplified and more accurate. Express has also made it easy for the Sales department to track their sales numbers and variable compensation information.
Express
This is a great tool for small business. It helps get the sales reps to actually use salesforce and also gets you away from excel spreadsheets. Currently we are using it via an excel spreadsheet and I am very excited to have our salesforce optimized so that I no longer have to do that!
Incent vs Express
I have been an Incent user for several years but I hear Express is a great tool from everyone that I've met that uses it. I have become curious myself and intend to learn much more about it at this years Comp Cloud 2017. Have you registered yet?
Go to Commission Application
I've now implemented Xactly Express for 3 different companies - it's just that reliable and well priced. In each implementation we achieved production readiness in the scoped timing and the application performed just as planned with nothing but positive impact - the Finance teams have always been happy with the accuracy of the data, the Sales teams have always been happy with the immediate knowledge and understanding of what their comp (not to mention the trust in the #s), and the Operations team thrilled with the amount of time saved each month in processing of comp. A win for all.
Incent Express
I haven't spent much time with Express since we use Incent.. However I have spoken with some folks who use it and gave it great feedback for the quickness and easiness of the system vs using excel.
Loved what i saw
I didn't spend too much time with Express since we were an Incent house. I was able to play around with Express a bit and it was really a slick app.
Hey Melissa - would mind elaborating on the implementation process? Did you purchase implementation resources/hours from Xactly, or did you do the whole thing yourself? How long has it taken you in each case to implement? Thanks!
