Nice & useful App.
Nice & useful App.
Good for external contacts but not working completely
It is quite an useful app especially when you are trying to create tasks within cases and accounts.
Excellent! Great Security too
I followed the steps in the guide perfectly (though they refer to the old Config UI vs. the newest one). It worked like a charm. I also confirmed that an external user trying to go to the 'root' of the external site see nothing. It only worked with the id as part of the email link. Thank you for a great tool
The installation guide is not up to date - problem installing
I have tried to install this app based on the user guide but I do not see the default web link - so I have taken the site url from the custom url related list and added it to the custom settings, also did all the steps in the guide, but still when i try to share a task with a contact i get an error: Error => Update failed. First exception on row 0 with id 00Tb0000007tEaaEAE; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, The URL parameter has not been set in the custom setting. Please read the instructions and try again after configuring: [] Can anyone assist with this issue?

Hi Eshkar, I have the same issue, did you solve it??
Good for Contact. Can improve on Leads
It is very useful on Contacts. What would be great is to extend a little bit and be able to enter any e-mail (not necessary a Lead or a Contact) to whom we would like to assign a task. The reason is that, for a Lead, what we wanted to do is to assign a task (related to a Lead) but to someone else than the Lead. It is not possible currently (if I am not wrong).
Nice app
TaskIt! is a small and nice app that is required by most business today.
Improved installation, more control over sharing and unsharing
TaskIt! now has an improved installation process that makes it easier and faster to set up. Users will also find it easier to manage with the visual sharing indicator and the "Stop Sharing" button. The installation and user manuals have also been improved with more details and screenshots.
Great Concept but follow step-by-step instructions from YouTube Video
This app was exactly what I was looking for, so I was thrilled to have found it. I first installed on the Developer edition and everything worked beautifully, so then I installed on our Enterprise edition. I followed the exact same steps from the instruction sheet, but for some odd reason, the Enterprise version did not work - not all the information from the task showed up on the external task and the fields could not be modified. So then I found a YouTube video with step-by-step instructions, and guess what, it finally ended up working on my Enterprise edition. There are some different steps in the video then the instructions sheet. What works - create public group and select from "Public Groups" drop down (not "Users" as stated in the instructions), then select "All Internal Users". The video also did not follow the instruction sheet steps 5 and 6 on Part 5, so neither did I and now IT WORKS!!! Changed from 3 stars to 4 stars because the instruction sheet directions are different from that on the YouTube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPCOWu7GJc8
Easy to set up, providing highly demanded task management features
Unlike the previous reviews, I had very smooth installation. The configuration is extremly easy by following the 2 pages instruction. This is what the tool does 1) It has a custom object called “External Task” which mirrors standard task object 2) It uses Apex trigger to synchronize the record between “Task” and “External Task” if the Task record has “External Task” flag. 3) It automatically triggers email (with an URL to “External Task” record) to Task Contact 4) The person who received the above email can update the “External Task” as Portal user. (This is similar to standard Salesforce feature for Contacts to accept meeting invitation.) If you want to restrict the email to be sent to selective contact (e.g. internal contacts only), you can use workflow to set “External Task” flag in Task, instead of letting user to enter it. This tool effectively helped us to tackle two highly demanded task management requirements, namely 1) Assign task to internal contacts who are not set up as Salesforce User 2) Automatically trigger email alert to task owner when task status is updated (PS: both Workflow Email Alert and Chatter auto-follow features are disabled by Salesforce for standard Task object. This tool gives Admin the possibility to create email Alert against the mirrored “External Task” object) Here are my wishes for future enhancements 1) allow admin to customize the Email Alert Template 2) Add External Task ID to Task object, to enable user manually trigger reminder email (e.g. using mailto: hyperlink) from Task Many thanks for providing this useful tool!
Security risk. this is what i can say
I had a close look, it is more like a PoC than a product. there are some security risk because who ever get hold of the URL can preform that task with no validation!!!! come on , expected something more robust. installation was another story. not for us.
We installed this app, and it sometimes works and sometime doesn't. When it doesn't work, pop-up window that is supposed to open up when sharing the task actually appears at the bottom left corner of the screen (and then we are unable to actually share the task). Is this what you experienced, or has anyone else experienced this? Any way to solve this issue?
