Account Based Pricebooks

Standard salesforce functionality now enables a Lookup to a Price Book from an Account. This functionality was not available when this free app was created. If you are having an issue, I suggest you use a lookup field.

You may need to wait for a while. The code runs a scheduled apex regularly to copy over pricebooks. I suggest you try again in about 1-2 hours.

Hi Lucien, I was able to run the Execute Apex. Thanks for your help! However, when I try to select the Pricebook on the Account screen, I get an error: No records of this type, etc. Is there something more I need to do? Thanks.

Hi Helen, The "System Log" is now "Developer Console". After opening Developer Console, in the menu, under "Debug", click on "Open Execute Anonymous user". That is where you can run code manually. Thank you, Lucian

The pricebook sync is run on a timed interval. So it might just mean the sync job has not run. Wait a bit and then check. The setup guide should explain the timing.

Please try the following: 1) go to the custom Pricebook object and check if it has the same records as the ones from the standard Pricebook object. If it doesn't, this means the batch job was not successfully finished - check the batch log for failures 2) is your search showing "recently viewed records" - try searching for a specific record and check if any results show up

It has been, yes. I tried to edit the Run Hour to run every hour like in the guide and I get this error: Error: Compile Error: Apex class has Batchable or Future jobs pending or in progress; Schedulable class has jobs pending or in progress at line 4 column 8 At Ln 4 Col 8 is: class PricebookCollectionSchedule implements Schedulable { So I left the PriceSchedule at every other hour. The Monitoring | Scheduled Jobs shows: PricebookSyncJob_2014-10-07_24:13:54 (which is 10/07/2014 @11:13 pm correct?) So any other settings that I can implement to get the Pricebooks to "Also apply to Account" would make this integration perfect. Thx.

Same issue. Installed package successfully. Added the PriceBook field to both Opportunity and Account page layout. The existing Price Book from SF associated with that Opp shows in the field. However when I use the search to add to the Account record, it comes up blank.

Hello, I just installed this app. I added two price books to the new custom object but it wont let me update the Description, Active, or Base Price book Record Id field. It is saying that they are all locked. I am the system admin so I don't understand why they are locked. Anyone experience a similar issue? What did you do to resolve it?

yes, i do add all apex related to this apps to the user profiles

Have you ensured all Users have access to the APEX under their user profile?

Has anyone face problem with erratic issue with this apps in Opportunity object? I've seen many cases in that if the account is set to Pricebook A, when an opportunity record is created for account, the opportunity pricebook should default to Pricebook A. Somehow, in some cases (and quite frequently as well), the pricebook selected for opportunity record is switched to Standard Pricebook. anyone has this error before? how to resolve it?

You go to Products object and scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a link Manage Price Books. Click on that link and you will see a list of price books defined in your system. Click on each price book and click on Sharing button to define the users/role/public group that has access to it.

Do you know how do I share Price Books? I can see them as Sys Admin but my other users can't?

I was able to get it up and running without the Apex schedule script. They must have changed their installation procedure without updating the instructions.

Hi David, I didnt use the schedule script, or at least i have no time to look into this yet. If you have dome some research and testing on the schedule script, do let me know the results.

You need to go to the custom Pricebook object creation by this Apps, by clicking on the + button to display all available objects. Click on Pricebooks and define the list of pricebook that you have in SFDC. So, basically, this list is a pointer to the actual pricebook in SFDC. Then, on the Pricebook field in the Account, you need to enter one of the pricebook listed in this custom Pricebook object (not the SFDC pricebook). Hope this helps.
