No Account Field Export?

OCR is not perfect, but works better than most. My main complaint is when exporting scanned cards to SalesForce, the account/company field does not map. Contacts go in as a contact and are not assigned to the account, even though a account field is captured in ScanBizCard.

I have also found the same to be true. Where is the "ScanBizCards tab"? I have sent several requests to support regarding this question and have had no response.

Shawn, Are you selecting the "No Account" option on "Choose an Account" screen? You can either select from the existing accounts available in the "Choose an Account" screen or create a New Account by clicking on the "New Account" option available at the bottom of the "Choose an Account" screen. To enable the New Account option in SalesForce, perform the following steps: a) ScanbizCards tab -> Edit the profile -> Configuration options -> Set "User can create accounts" field to Yes. Thanks,

Jorge Sosa

Excellent!

The application works great

Poor OCR

iPhone 4S, tried with and without flash, steady hand, card on table. Tried the same card three times. Spelling errors in over half of the fields. Fairly standard card design, white background, black text, one logo. Disappointed as the app features are compelling.

Amazing app

Have been searching for a tool just like this, saw there was a free version of the app in the iphone app store and just downloaded it. I grabbed my own business card just to test it out - worked perfectly! It was so easy to use. I then created myself as a Lead in Salesforce with one click. Again, super easy and fast. The initial setup to Salesforce is what you would expect - enter your username and password, then you get emailed a verification code to enter. Pretty straightforward. I'm going to recommend this to the entire biz dev team.

Working with SalesForce.Com

Please, Please, Please fix the application to make it work with other domain name servers. I'm not sure where or why that needs fixing but can't deliver the promise of this app without that feature working!

Hi Bill, Check out http://www.cardscansoftware.com. This business card scanning application for Salesforce does work with other domain name servers.

wont export to salesforce

works really well EXCEPT it wont work with salesforce if you use your own domain name for your salesforce instance. for example, fine if you use login.salesforce.com. It will not work if you are using domainname.my.salesforce.com. I reported this to them 6 months ago and still no fix for it. Real shame it would be a great app if it worked when using your own domain name with salesforce!

Having the exact same issue and wanted to showcase this as part of a showcase. We use test.salesforce.com and I get "Salesforce error: empty result set for Account fields" and then 2 more - 1 for Lead and 1 for Contact. Is this still not fixed? What is the purpose of then specifying your custom domain?

scanning does not work so well

I downloaded the free app and tried to scan a few cards with my iPad2. they do warn that the iPad2 camera does not high enough resolution for the scanning. anyhow, I tried it and it couldn't scan two business cards that I tried. I got some of the text, but the phone numbers and everything were wrong. Perhaps, I should get an iPhone.

Thanks Thomas, I don't know if it's possible to withdraw a rating, but I imagine if you re-rate it may overwrite the first (and even if not would be helpful!) We are now on iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7 and coming soon to Blackberry so hopefully it shouldn't be too hard for you to get your hands on a device that we do expect good results from!

I'll see if I can try this with another device and I'll post another review. If there's a way for me to withdraw the rating, let me know. I can't seem to see how to do it.

Hi, I'm the co-founder of ScanBizCards. As you noted in your review we try to warn very explicitly that the iPad 2 simply does not have a good enough camera for scanning business cards. This warning appears both in the App Store description and every single time you try to scan a card in the app. 2 stars seems a little unfair don't you think! :) Regards, Danny

Great productivity tool

A great tool to help you get rid of the worst part of business cards capture. There are some minor bugs here and there, but the support team is v. responsive and are pushing out upgrades frequently Sales Force integration works well, and allows some level of customization Only feature i wish was easier to get to would be to get rid of images of business cards that have been synced up w Sales Force
