Email to Something - Worked Well

I installed Email to Something to see if it might work for a project that I was working on. While it didn't end up fitting the needs for that specific project, it worked well and worked as described! The setup was easy and clear (especially for a non-developer). I would recommend this tool for anyone that has a need for a tool such as this.

Question

Hi, My agents use Force.com enterprise, so they don't have "case to email" as we can have it with service cloud enterprise . Does your app works with force.com & does it bring email to case feature? Thanks, Jean-Luc

Jean-Luc: Were you able to get this working. If so, would you kindly consider increasing your rating. Thanks.

Yes... You can run this app with platform licenses as long as you have API access and can run APEX code. Assuming this works for you, kindly consider increasing your rating. Thanks.

Awesome!

Question: I created a free "Zoho" form where users within my organization can fill out and submit the form, and it automatically emails me the data from the form in the same format that is required for the email service. So I just forward that email to the salesforce email. However, I keep having to remove the "FW:" text from the subject line. Would it be possible for me to modify your apex class code and change line 9 from "if (subject.startsWith('new '))" to "if (subject.startsWith('fw: new '))" and would that resolve the issue? Great app!

Perfect! Thanks Lucian. Much appreciated!

Hi Leeor ! If you take a look at the code, you can see that after that line there is a substring, which means it removes the "new " part of the subject, the first 4 characters. if (subject.startsWith('new ')) subject = subject.substring(4).trim(); If you need to remove the "fw:" , you'll actually need to add another condition after this one, because "fw: new " contains 8 characters, not 4, so you need a different substring. So your code will look like this: if (subject.startsWith('new ')) subject = subject.substring(4).trim(); if (subject.startsWith('fw: new ')) subject = subject.substring(8).trim(); Hope it helps.

Thanks. Alternatively, would this be the correct code if I want it to work whether or not the email was forwarded? if (subject.startsWith('new ') || subject.startsWith('fw: new ')) Apologies for the coding newb questions and thanks for your help!

Yes. You should be able to do that.

Great App

I like this app and its very useful to attach your email to any thing and very generic app as it capture all sort of objects in salesforce.

Installation a success - Excellent customer support

Had some challenge with the Lead - Name field in setting up and running a test email. Excellent support from Vertiba after writing a quick review. Were able to resolve the issue by the next day. Looking forward to using this app.
