Seems to work, just not great
The set up instructions are fairly straight forward to follow, there are two buttons installed for the Case object one is a LWC quick action (which I wasn't able to get to show on the page layout) the second launches a VisualForce page which does work, but opens a second tab when using a console app. There is also a minor bug with the list view button in that if you take ownership of a case that you already own then it returns you to the Recently Views listview instead of the one you were on (This doesn't seem to happen when you are using a console app though) So over all it works, just not good enough to give to my users
Works well, setup instructions need updated
The instructions on the download page appear to be outdated. Setup>Object Manager>Cases>Case Page Layouts was the route I had to use. Also, the button will only show under the edit dropdown on the details page. Is there a way to change that?
Saves so much time
Makes it really easy for our Users to take ownership of a case. Just one click.
Error message for users without access to own
The button works well for users with access to own the record, but if a user doesn't have access, they get a long confusing looking error message. When I design solutions for my org I don't release them if some users see generic error messages- much better to customize the error message to clearly tell the user they don't have the necessary permissions to own the record. Also, this app installed two actions with the same name, only one of them works.
Couldn't be easier - we use it hundreds of times a day!
Easy to install and use, this app is a no-brainer for your service org to quickly grab cases to work on.
Easy to Install.
We've been using this app instead of the out-of-the-box Accept button. Too bad Accept button does not work if the case is already owned by a user. Good thing this app exists.
Nikka - Glad that you are having success with Take Ownership. Please let us know if you have any ideas on how to improve the product. You may also want to try our other free app, Change Case Ownership Plus, basically an easy way to go the other direction with case ownership: https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N30000008Z4H9EAK

Excellent addition for Lightning
Simple install and page layout updates to enable. A time saver for our agents. Thanks IC!
Love the button
Our support teams love this button for cases. Anything that can reduce the number of clicks is a win!
Error experience
Edited: The IC team worked with us very promptly and expedited the update for us, which will go a long way in helping us satisfy this requirement for our client. I look forward to other apps from this team! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, App works well and mostly as expected. However, when a user does not have read/write access to a case and the app errors out updating the case, it displays the error for a split-second before closing out the tab containing the error. That means, there is no visual feedback for the user to know what went wrong. If we can persist the error in the tab or a modal, that would be great. Thanks.
Hi Sidd, As discussed on our support case, this issue was identified as a product defect. However we have good news! A new version (1.57) has just been uploaded the AppExchange and includes a fix. The only action you'll need to take is upgrading. If you experience any further issues or have additional questions, please feel free to open a new case and we'd be happy to help.
Hi Kim, Thank you for the stellar review. Our team really appreciates it!!!! If there's anything else we can do to improve your experience with Take Ownership, please let me know. Thanks again! - Joe
