Unable to install
We are unable to install Chatter Compliance V2 as it asks to install with the profile having Managed Chatter Message enabled. We added to the permission set and applied to the user but it’s still not working.
Chatter Compliance: Great App, Not Much Support/Install/Setup/Config Info Available
We implemented Salesforce in July '14. As a publicly traded company, we are required to adhere to SOX compliance regulations on many fronts, including social media governance. Since Chatter qualifies as social media, our SFDC account exec and tech support specialist recommended this app on AppExchange. We instated the Chatter Compliance app in the sandbox and production a few months ago. We ran into some installation and configuration issues, but not a lot of support documentation is available on the web, so it was a lot of trial/error. I'd like to share our experience, commonly encountered issues and how to resolve them. The application functions as advertised and the UI functions are very user-friendly. If you run into any install/config issues with any of the following, feel free to reply to this post and I'd be happy to help: 1. BEFORE attempting the install, you need to check the "Enable Salesforce CRM Content" checkbox under App Setup | Customize | Salesforce CRM Content | Settings. It was not clear in the instruction that this step needed to be taken PRIOR to running the installation. 2. Private Message Archive Scheduled Job: You will need to create a Permission Set to Manage Chatter Messages and assign this permission set to the user account that completed the installation BEFORE the private message archive scheduled job will run successfully. It is a batch job [not a trigger like public posts/comments], so this took a bit of troubleshooting for us to get it to work. Thanks, Nicole

Sandbox: Chatter Compliance Application Warning : missing configuration.
Installed this in a developer Sandbox and am getting an email with this error message: Application Chatter Compliance is not working properly. Please review the instructions in the Chatter Compliance Setup page. Error: Custom Setting "default" not found. Has anyone seen this before?
System.QueryException while inserting a feed or posting something to chatter.
We have this app installed in production and all of a sudden we are getting the below error in production while trying to insert a feed on any object or trying to post something on chatter groups. : System.DmlException: Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: CANNOT_INSERT_UPDATE_ACTIVATE_ENTITY, chcv2_r.ChatterAuditFeedItem: execution of AfterInsert caused by: System.QueryException: Non-selective query against large object type (more than 100000 rows). Consider an indexed filter or contact salesforce.com about custom indexing. Even if a field is indexed a filter might still not be selective when: 1. The filter value includes null (for instance binding with a list that contains null) 2. Data skew exists whereby the number of matching rows is very large (for instance, filtering for a particular foreign key value that occurs many times) (chcv2_r) : [] By this error we understood the field used in query is not indexed hence the result is very huge..but we don't have access to the app related components to see which field or the query is causing this issue.. Tried to recreate this error in full sandbox but was not successful as we don't have the same data as production. We couldn't do anything as this is a managed package. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks.
Due to this package associated triggers, upon updating user records we are getting Exception
After using this package features, try to deactivate the user record, where user id associated in package associated object. you will get this bellow error. Error: Invalid Data. Review all error messages below to correct your data. Apex trigger chcv2_r.ChatterAuditUserFeedItem caused an unexpected exception, contact your administrator: chcv2_r.ChatterAuditUserFeedItem: execution of AfterUpdate caused by: System.DmlException: Upsert failed. First exception on row 0 with id "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"; first error: MIXED_DML_OPERATION, DML operation on setup object is not permitted after you have updated a non-setup object (or vice versa): chcv2_r__ArchivedEntityFeed__c, original object: User: []: (chcv2_r)
Professional version?
The details page for this app says that it will run under the Professional version but since a custom profile is required it will not run under Professional - or am I missing something?
Improvement suggestion - Support permission sets!
It'd be nice if this app would work with permission sets & not pop up a warning message that the profile doesn't support Manage Chatter Messages if the profile doesn't support Manage Chatter Messages but an additional permission set does. But otherwise, a very useful & easy app to work with it.
String Too Long Error
we have opportunities with names more than 100 characters. And we are getting an error from Chatter Audit Feed Item trigger saying that STRING_TOO_LONG. From the error what I understood is ..it is trying to copy the opportunity name to Standard name field of some object. And we have no way to fix it
I am not an IT expert - but you are.
What does this mean:~ ** BEFORE INSTALLING please ensure you are using a custom profile with system administrator privileges and ensure the "Manage Chatter Messages permission" is enabled for that profile And if I don't have the necessary privilages what then? I think this is appauling service. If I had my way I would just to delete the whole thing and move on. IanR
I had the same experience and have been told that the app is no longer available to install
