CrowdGuide - Training and Adoption Tool

Great app - simple but clever concept, well worth the price!

We are very pleased with the light touch approach CrowdGuide provides us with and it has really helped us bring our training resources together. The CrowdGuide menu sits conveniently in the top left corner of our sidebar to give it some prominence whilst not interfering with tab screens; at the same time making use of previously empty space. The implementation of CrowdGuide here is the beginning of a new strategy we hope will provide our Salesforce users with a more “Self Service” style approach to help and training; basically, when and where they need it most. Over a period of time “CrowdGuides” will be published to the menu directing our users to a variety of styles of online resources, ranging from our more traditional existing cheat sheets and procedure guides to Youtube videos, screen castings and new interactive eLearning; some of which will be designed specifically for individual business areas and their processes. Support for CrowdGuide is excellent and it looks like there are going to be some really useful enhancements due out soon.

FYI for anyone else who doesn't know - Salesforce rich text editor will limit image sizes. If you want to include screenshots in your guides, try downloading this Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/salesforcecom-super-rich/hlcmkjpmnhcpioodofbnkdjnfomegoig?hl=en and using it when creating crowdguides. Your users don't need it installed to see the images in the correct size. I originally gave this app 4 stars because I didn't understand it was a limitation of SF, not the app.

Amazing App - Such a helpful timesaver!

This is a GREAT solution for quick questions and in-depth training that folks need refreshers on or even if they are new to the organization. This is saving me HUGE amounts of time re-training people that either don't get it or didn't pay attention the first time around. Its easy to use, easy to configure and the user adoption is going to soar - SO EXCITED, thanks you guys!!!!!

Excellent tool at an affordable price. I would recommend this to everyone to support good adoption.

Being Native force.com means you can use standard security to strictly control who sees different guides. You may need to whitelist the popup link in some popup blockers but that is an easy onetime step. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Perfect for User Adoption

The CrowdGuide app is a real problem solver for the Basati team. This phenomenal app allows you to create user-friendly guides that sit directly in your sidebar - and the side bar ONLY shows the guide for the object you are working within. For a consultancy group, this guide is perfect to help ensure that the training we do for our clients will STICK.

Enrich workflows with valuable content - in the right place at the right time.

Managing process methodology, best practice and protecting your brand are key. Presenting relevant content at the correct time during a workflow is essential to maintaining all of the above. As a business we had a wealth of in house experience that we wanted to share within our Salesforce instance. CrowdGuide has helped us build a rich repository of valuable training material aligned to our process and available to the user in the right place at the right time. The set up is ultra easy, flexible and offers the ability to house rich content including images and videos. Like Salesforce our guides are increasingly growing with our business. A simple, effective intuitive knowledge centre - love it !

Great solution for user education - so simple but so powerful!

I love this app. My org is quite complex in terms of business practices, security policies etc. and I had long struggled with getting my users to understand how and why they should do things properly - for example, understanding the sales stages we use, and what the expected milestones are for each one. We have it all documented elsewhere but it has never been easy to reference at the point where a sales rep is entering a new opportunity. CrowdGuide allows me to explain these policies throughout the org and reinforce the messages already covered in our internal training and documentation. I find myself now referring users back to CrowdGuide and a lot of common questions are answered. Also love the ability to insert graphics for a bit of corporate branding. As long as you have some idea of what you want to educate your users on, initial setup and creation of new guides could not be easier. Recommended!

Just in time training.

Finally, a sensibly priced appexchange application!! I've been looking for a cost effective solution like this for a long time. The ability to have help articles (links) in the sidebar on the records you are editing is great. Once you select an article it pops open in a small window so the user can read the instructions while navigating through their object record. I do a number of screencasts and this application is great to embed them in the pop up window...Perfect! However, there are some limitations which they are working on for future release. If you use record types you can't differentiate your articles/links based on the screen requirements/sales process. Also, I use a number of Visual Workflow Flows to caputure user inputs. Currently there is no way to tag CrowdGuide to Flows. In general I'm very happy with the addition of this application and over time it will grow to a five star rating for us. Cheers Trevor
