Hasn't been upgraded to api version 45

There are classes in this package that aren't at version 45, so blocks the ICU rollout.

Was not even able to install it

No Support

I spent two hours with Mailchimps tech support, and they couldn't find anyone who could do simple debugging or even know who to escalate the issue to. They abruptly dropped the chat after they couldn't find anyone to transfer me to. We are getting an apex error in the Hourly Batch job, and all Mailchimp could say is to contact Salesforce.

This works really well... if you follow a setup guide.

I needed to set up a two-way sync between thousands of Mailchimp and Salesforce contacts, including many industries I wanted to keep organized. BEFORE you install this app, please go to https://bluninjas.com/mailchimp-how-tos/ and follow their entire guide. It will save you from a lot of frustration. They also created a video guide if you prefer that method. Without that guide, I would have left this app in the dust because it is very complicated to set up correctly. The only nagging issue I have is that the Mailchimp API will send out an automated mass email to my org when the API is unavailable due to Salesforce updates. This can be remedied by going to Email Templates in Setup, and then disabling the Mailchimp API email template.

Unprofessional "expert" help

I tried "chatting" with someone who was supposedly an expert at Salesforce and just said to me "I am not the most technical. Contact Customer support they can help you" and then disconnected the chat immediately. How unprofessional.

Poor Salesforce Native Integration Experience

It was clunky and never got it to be a good/seamless 2 way sync. Review the competitors on the AppExchange and go with someone else. As of today: Mailchimp has 2.5 stars while ActiveCampaign has 4.5 stars. Insider, Braze, Kyaviyo, and Hubspot all are listed as higher performers than Mailchimp according to g2.

Worked well for years

We have used this app since 2014 and there has been good and bad moments with it. It's fairly simple to setup and worked well for years. Lately we have noticed that it fills our Salesforce storage and it's pretty difficult to clean. Mailchimp app can periodically clean MC subscriber activity objects but not MC Campaign Hourly Stats objects. It seems like there is a clear bug with the MC Campaign Hourly Stats. A couple of years ago it added only 24 MC Campaign Hourly Stats per MC Campaign, which is correct since there are 24 hours per day. Now it's creating duplicate MC Campaign Hourly Stats objects every hour. For example if I send an email at 12:00. It will add objects like this: at 00:00 = MCHourlyStats-1 18.1.2023 00:00 at 01:00 = MCHourlyStats-2 18.1.2023 00:00, MCHourlyStats-3 18.1.2023 01:00 at 02:00 = MCHourlyStats-4 18.1.2023 00:00, MCHourlyStats-5 18.1.2023 01:00, MCHourlyStats-6 18.1.2023 02:00 And this continues 24 times per MC Campaign so in the end one MC Campaign is taking up an enormous amount of storage space. I have no idea how to clean 500 MC Campaigns full of duplicate records easily. These records are already taking 2 gigabytes of our 10-gigabyte storage. Even if I'm able to delete these records with dataloader (or similiar) the integration will continue creating duplicates every time we send an email. If we stop to the hourly sync then it will stop the subscriber sync as well. Mailchimp should take a look at this and create a self-cleaning feature for this type of issue. Unfortunately it's very difficult to get any kind of support from their team, so I hope this review graps your attention.

Got it! That's good to know.

Thanks, Travis! I have seen those guides, and we have followed many of them. They were good and should be promoted by Mailchimp. However, none of those relate to the issue I have reported here and directly to Mailchimp's support. For this issue, I'm currently using an automation that deletes those MC Campaign records.

It has been 11 months since my review, and I am still waiting for an update from Mailchimp.

The instructions are a bit old - definitely could be updated - and we can't seem to subscribe Salesforce contacts to Mailchimp within SF and because we don't have a paid account with Mailchimp we can't get support for this. Is frustrating when you get promised that this will work and it doesn't really and SF support won't help.

This integration is a nightmare

I have 55,000 contacts to address in MC. I created a new audience. Then I setup approx 20 MC queries to populate Tags and other things. Problem 1: If you run a query, and your settings in the query were wrong, your whole audience is set wrong ( due to your own query). Now the problem: Usually I would delete all contacts in the audience and rerun all correct queries again, to be back. But if you permanentely delete the contacts, you can NEVER get them back in teh audience. The consequence is, you have to make a new audience, rebuild all queries for teh new audience again. This is an absolutely NO-GO. Problem 2: The MC queries simply do not work properly. The sync simply is not applied to all contacts. This is a BUG not a feature, nobody takes care of. Until today I have a 700 US$/month Pro account. Bye, bye MC
