  • New features: Clone a large amount of related data such as permission sets, queues, etc., clone custom User fields, use in a Lightning Page Component, Utility Bar Component with pop-out capability, or use in a Lightning tab.

  • Clone an existing User to create a New User — Includes all associated assignments or just the ones selected with the Advanced Options feature. Sends link to new User automatically and activates immediately.

  • Works in Classic, Lightning, and on Salesforce Mobile — Try out the new Lightning features: Lightning Page Component, Utility Bar Component, and Lightning tab. Compatible with the most recent release of Salesforce, see more under More Details.

This app comes from the need that many admins have from time to time to create a new User. Cloning a new User often comes in as an ad hoc request to duplicate one user for a new one. We imagined the scenario that an urgent email comes in to the Salesforce administrator from the hiring manager while the admin is out at lunch. How could they quickly and easily create the User record with all the related permission sets, public group access, and User features selected? With CTU. The admin can also manage other app licenses through a link at the bottom of the confirmation page. Note: Given new v2.23 features the Active field for the clone user now defaults to inactive. It will error if you try to clone while this is inactive and also clone Public Groups or Queues or Permission Set Assignments or Permission Set Group Assignments. Please see “Clone This User - User Guide for Lightning” for ways to update settings and resolve. The most recent Clone This User package available for download here on the AppExchange has been tested and verified as compatible with the latest Salesforce release, including the enhanced domains update.
