Very Customizable Worked for a Year and a Half
This app works great in customization of the printable view and allowed us to add our company logo. I cannot complain about the program. The only issue that I find is that I cannot find a way to contact them becuase after a year and a half I am receiving this error message: "Map key Detail not found in map Error is in expression '{!mapDetailDisplay[outerKey]}' in component <apex:repeat> in page htppv:printableview." I tried looking for documentation to get this resolved or a place to email the HyTech company, but there is no email defined in the email section. I hope I can get in contact with someone to change this review to higher stars as this app was very helpful when it worked. I would be able to change my rating as long as I am able to get in contact with someone to resolve this issue.
So after further investigation it seems that Salesforce partnered with the Developer (HytechPro) and in 2019 released thier own version of this. For me, up until recently, the HytechPro version was working but i was instructed that if you are using the Lightning version of Salesforce, this is now built in by default. So in short to "fix" this what is needed is to place the built in print view button on your page layout and remove the one for the add on app custom button. This means that this app is now baked in and we do not need the custom version for lightning. To do this edit your page layout->mobile & Lightning Actions->place the "Printable View" button in the Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section, remove the custom button. That should be it. Note: If like me your orig button was also named "Printable View" just change the label for that object under Buttons,Links, adn Actions so you can easily differentiate between the two.
This has just stopped working for us too. Getting the same error as you are "Map key Detail not found in map Error is in expression '{!mapDetailDisplay[outerKey]}' in component <apex:repeat> in page htppv:printableview" If you find a solution or a contact for the developer please share.
Cannot get solution to work, receive error message - AS MANY BEFORE ME
I followed all of the setup documentation but receive the following error when clicking the custom button on the Work Order object. "The link you followed isn’t valid. This page requires a CSRF confirmation token. Report this error to your Salesforce administrator." I have sent numerous emails to support with no replies, and I see several other reviews with the same issue. The last review that said customer support was good was in 2019. Do you not have any customer support anymore???
Fair for cases does not work for knowledge/How to
This app gives you a printable view for cases but has a lot of extra items that are not needed on the printable view without a way to delete them. Need to download into a different format to do that. What I needed it for on the Knowledge/How site it does not work. For my application it does not work and responses I got from help line were even worse then the App.
Need Error Message Help
Hello, I have followed the installation guide for set up but keep receiving the below error message when going to the record and using the print button: "The link you followed isn’t valid. This page requires a CSRF confirmation token. Report this error to your Salesforce administrator." Does anyone have any insight about how to fix this? We are using this for one of our custom objects and we were really looking forward to using this app to change the salesforce logo to our own when printing.

Oh! Can you give me the full URL that you used? EmailMessage doesn't play nice with this app...and I'm thinking it may not play nice at all, but I'm wondering if I'm lucky enough that your version would work. (I've played around with a couple versions, but nothing works; can't decide if I just have Monday brain on a Tuesday, or EmailMessage is really just that special.)
Hi Jeremy - Had the same issue, but when I changed the URL in the button like so (below), it worked! (Now getting the Map Detail error others have mentioned...but only on the Email Message object...At least none are throwing the CSRF error at this point.) {!URLFOR('/apex/HTPPV__PrintableView?id=',null,[id=[ObjectName].Id])}
Great App!
We have 2 custom object that we need to print and it was not available in Lightning. This app works great, we can now print these objects. I had some issues with the installation but Sanjay called and we got it corrected. Great customer support!
Never worked
Extremely disappointed because really needed this feature. It never worked. We had an error message from day 1 after installation. Still hoping for a fix and then will update the review.
Great customer service
Printable view for lightning stopped working; however, the service team quickly fixed it. Thank you so much!
Okay Tool - Enhancement Request
Tool works somewhat well, but we really need to get the 'History' related list within the Printable View, specifically on the Case object. This is missing today. Is this functionality on the horizon at all? Additionally, I'm unable to provide visibility into Formula Fields being brought over from a Contact object. So when I go to print, any Formula fields from related objects are stripped, and i cannot configure the Installed Package to allow those fields to be a part of the printable view.
Good replacement for missing functionality in Lightning
Just installed this for a client who we're upgrading to Lightning, who did not want to lose the Printable View function on a custom object. I was not able to get it to work initially, but the app developer responded very quickly and even got on a web meeting with me to resolve the issue, and now it works perfectly. Here are some key tips if you are seeing the "Error is in expression {!mapDetailDisplay[outerKey]...". 1) Check your Remote Site setup, especially if you have a custom domain. To find the correct domain URL, add the Printable View button to both a Classic and Lightning page layout. Switch to Classic, click on the Printable View button, and copy the first part of the URL until it ends in "force.com". If you're testing in a sandbox, your Remote Site URL should be something like "https://[mydomain]--[sandboxname]--htppv.[InstanceID].visual.force.com". The actual name of the Remote Site does not matter. The Instance ID will be something like "NA57", or "cs43" if on a sandbox. You can also find your Instance ID under Company Information, at the bottom right. 2) Check your session settings. From Setup, enter Session Settings in the Quick Find box, then select Session Settings. Uncheck the "Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated" checkbox. If you had to change the setting, you'll need to log out and log in again.
@Dixie, can you provide me with the email or direction on how to contact customer support. I tried all of the items you suggested and unfortunately in my case I am still having the issue. I do think this has to do with the new update which required us to create custom domains and trigger it on.
