Great tool, few details
Hi, I really like the tool, the simplicity and the fact that it works on every object and exports XLS directly. Two small things: - even though the full string is in the export .xls file, as soon as opened it renders "00001234" (an ordernumber in my case) as 1234. Even though the original field (OrderSummary.Ordernumber) is a text(255). - the redirect that I get on Account, back to the list view etc does not seem to work on OrderSummary. if these could be fixed/circumvented, this tool would be awesome!
Error with E2Excel – Invalid Conversion & Named Credential User Limit Clarification
I am currently using the E2Excel AppExchange package for Export to Excel functionality in my Salesforce org. Configuration Details: Using a Connected App for authentication Named Credential configured with Identity Type = Per User Added and authenticated approximately 210 users under the Named Credential Authentication for all users was performed using System Admin credentials Issues Observed: When attempting to export data (even as System Admin) from public list views, I receive the following error: Invalid conversion from runtime type List<ANY> to Map<String,ANY> An unexpected error has occurred. Your solution provider has been notified. (E2Ex) The error appears when navigating to the Named Credential and scrolling through the list of authenticated users is Id value 0XA4x0000004Hnw is not valid for the ExternalDataUserAuth standard controller Questions: Could this issue be related to: The way users were authenticated (using a single admin account for all users)? Or a limitation/bug within the E2Excel package? Is there any limit on the number of users that can be authenticated under a Per User Named Credential? Is it required that each user must authenticate individually, instead of using a single admin credential for all users?
Issue with Exporting List View Data
Hi Team, We are currently unable to export list view data for users and are encountering the following error: "Invalid conversion from runtime type List to Map<String,ANY>. An unexpected error has occurred. Your solution provider has been notified. (E2Ex)" We’ve observed that this issue occurs specifically for list views where the Sharing Settings are set to "Only I can see this list view." As a result, this functionality is not working as expected. Could you please assist in resolving this issue?
Thank you for reporting the issue and for sharing the details. We understand that the issue is occurring specifically for list views with the sharing setting set to “Only I can see this list view.” We request you to please ask the affected users to follow these steps: 1. Go to Profile Icon → Settings → Authentication Settings for External Systems 2. Delete any existing E2Excel authentication entry (if present) 3. Click New / Authenticate and complete the authentication using their own Salesforce credentials Also, please ensure that the Named Credential is properly assigned to their profile or permission set. After completing these steps, please try exporting again. If the issue still persists after performing these steps, please let us know at support@astreait.com , we will be happy to assist further.
We are unable to export 10,000 records from the list view.
We are unable to export 10,000 records from the list view. Is there a supported solution or workaround for this limitation? Could you also confirm the maximum number of records that can be exported from a list view?
Thank you for your question. As a general guideline, when using around 10 columns, the List View button can reliably export thousands of records in a single run. The exact number may vary depending on data size and Salesforce platform constraints such as response size and processing time when generating large Excel files in one request. For larger volumes, exporting in smaller batches or using the E2Excel component option provides more stable and consistent results. If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know. If you face any issues while exporting or encounter any errors during usage, please reach out to us at support@astreait.com , and we will be happy to look into it.
Thank you for your feedback. Exporting very large list views is subject to Salesforce platform limits. While smaller and medium-sized exports work smoothly from the List View button, very large exports (such as 10,000+ records) may not complete reliably in a single run. For large datasets, we recommend using the E2Excel component or tab option, or splitting the data into smaller batches using filters. This approach provides more stable results. Thank you for your understanding. Please feel free to contact us at support@astreait.com if you need any assistance.

Fast and efficient customer support
My client had some issues getting the named credentials created as they are not an admin. I was able to get help from their tech support very quickly and was able to work with them to get the app set up in a timely manner. Now the app works great!
Hello Susmitha M, Thank you for the detailed explanation. Based on the information you shared, the issue is most likely related to the authentication approach used for the Per User Named Credential. With the “Per User” authentication model, each user is expected to authenticate using their own Salesforce credentials. Authenticating multiple users using a single System Admin credential can lead to inconsistent authentication mappings and may cause errors such as: 1. “Invalid conversion from runtime type List to Map<String,ANY>” 2. “Id value … is not valid for the ExternalDataUserAuth standard controller.” At present, there is no specific limitation in E2Excel regarding the number of authenticated users under a Per User Named Credential. However, Salesforce expects authentication to be maintained individually for each user. To resolve this issue, we recommend the following steps: 1. Delete the existing Authentication Settings for External Systems entries for the affected users 2. Re-authenticate each user individually using their own Salesforce credentials 3. Avoid using a single admin credential for multiple users under the Per User authentication model After completing the re-authentication process, please test the export functionality again. If the issue persists, please let us know, and we will be happy to assist you further. For any queries related to this app or any other issues, please feel free to reach out to us at support@astreait.com.
