Linking SalesForce to Global Shop Solutions
I would recommend Commercient for linking SF to GSS. The technology they are using appears to be bringing information from ERP to SF properly. I do like that their system creates custom objects for the data within SF. Apparently, not all systems connect this way. We don't have sync from SF to GSS up yet. I will update after that. The process working with Commercient has been a learning process. Commercient is a company made up of mostly remote employees all over the world. As a company using more remote workers ourselves, I have not issue with that. But you need to calibrate yourself for this. Initially, I resisted the use of their ticketing system for all communications. I just wanted to pick up the phone and talk to the person. Once I fully engaged their process, communication has been better. We had a lot of challenges developing an accurate SOW which led to some trouble. You need to over communicate with Commercient. The people are smart and hardworking but their structure has the potential for miscommunication. No worries, communicate carefully and there will be no problems. So no worries. If you, like me, struggle with using GSS as a sales system you will be very happy in SF.
Unfortunately I feel for accuracy I need to follow this review up. The project looked good in the beginning but has failed miserably in execution. This project began in the summer of 2019 and as of November 2020 we still do not have a fully functioning system. The project has been poorly managed and the technical skills of the team seem to be deficient. What is equally concerning is that I reached out to the president after months of delays to voice my concern and he never made any time to reach out to me directly or via his quality management staff. Unfortunately, we are now looking for a new option away from Commercient. They may yet figure out the technical challenge eventually, but I can see now that the company itself is not one that I want to partner with for the long term.

We have recently successfully transmitted data from SalesForce to ERP and are going live this week. This is good news and we hope it will be a turning point in our work with Commercient. It is certainly encouraging that they have been able to solve the technical challenges before them.
