Flow Error Handling

Overview

Flow Error Handling helps admins quickly see where a flow error occurred. The template includes an example flow that sends information to a subflow, which emails the admin and current running user, when faults occur.

See How Flow Error Handling Works

  • No need to wade through the long Flow error message to determine exactly where your Flow went wrong.

  • Receive an email with the name of the element where the error occurred, the full list of variables at the time of the error, and the standard fault message.

  • The user currently running the Flow will receive an email letting them know that the admin has been alerted about the problem.

When building any new Flow, start by cloning the example Flow in this template. Build your Flow as normal and quickly replicate the template's error handling for each element in your Flow. Each fault path ends at a subflow, included in the template, which sends an email to the admin with details about the fault. The email includes: the brief Flow fault message, the name of the element where the fault occurred, the current running user, and optionally, the value of all of the variables in the Flow at the time of the Fault. The subflow also sends an email to the current letting them know that the admin has been alerted about the problem.
