Field Dump Pro - Extract Data Model to Excel

Nice in theory, but leaves so much to be desired...

I need field name, type, length, and description for every object I use. Unfortunately, Field Dump Pro does not include Description. Nor does it allow me access to the AccountContactRelationship object or to any Health Cloud objects. So I am now back to square 1. Sigh.

Life Saver

This tool is brilliant! It saw us through the complete migration from our old system to Salesforce; it's amazing for giving you plenty of details - what fields are required, help text, description, and picklist options You can pare it down transposed into templates and be confident you're getting the full picture. Plus it's free! You just can't beat it Only feature that would be nice is the ability to limit the object fields you get to only those associated with a particular page layout. That would be above and beyond

Excellent Quick Data Dump

So let me start off with saying that I downloaded the free version first and was impressed with it but it did not provide the level of detail I needed for review and to build a data dictionary of two orgs that I just took over as Admin. So I opted into downloading the Pro version since it had a 15-day trial and I would probably not need it for more than that. After selecting the objects and configuring the delimiter for any picklist values (thank you for offering pipe and double pipe, makes DB imports way easier.) I was given several very thought out and well designed excel exports. I was impressed that the Object API Name was in the file and hyperlinked to the org it was connected too, along with having the Label name hyperlinked to the corresponding sheet within the exported workbook. This app was worth the time and I could see it being worth the ongoing cost. I do wish Pop offered more export options, like a diagram or vizio file showing more of a visualization of the object details and metadata.

How to contact support?

I'm using the 15 days trial but I found that columns related to Page Layouts, Created by/date, Modified by/date and some others are empty. Is this a limit of the trial? Before purchasing I need to understand what the Page Layouts displays: just the number of page layouts where it is used or the names of the PL?

Outstanding Support for Extraction Of Object related to API 53 or more.

Recently we noticed that we are not able to extract the Discovery Framework or Salesforce standard object that can be accessible by API Version 53 or more. The support team provide the fix and give us the latest 1.15 API version. Extremely satisfied with the services provided by the team.

Missing Functionality

When selecting Include picklist values in extract? option, Multiselect Picklist values are not exported. It only works on Picklist fields. Why is that not available?

Exactly what I was looking for

On day 1 of the 15 day trial, but so far this is exactly what I was looking for. I only pulled one object so far (Lead), but it worked well and quickly. Having an easy way to pull all the meta data, including Description & Help Text as well as the Business Status field are going to save hours of time for our clean up project. Will see what happens when I try to pull more objects at once, but so far I'm very happy with this.

Great App

I initially had some issues with the app actually generating a file but worked with the responsive support team and found my initial scope was too large. After a few attempts this app worked flawlessly and is a huge help to streamlining documentation

Great tool for maintanance & monitoring

It's a great tool for maintanance & monitoring of your org. In fact, the only one I could find that extracts filed description metadata. Overall - easy and intuitive generation of the reports. I would improve two things: 1. The file format - I had a hard time opening up xls file, no matter whether I try to open on desktop or online excel version the macro file seems to be broken 2. Include meta data description Overall - it helped me a lot! Thanks!

How do you test it?

How do you test it if nothing gets outputted? You click on dump and it does nothing.
