TagItApp
Associate pre-defined tags to the Account records.
- Business Need
- Admin & Developer Tools
TagIt allows salesforce admins to pre-define a list of tags that their end-users could then apply to Accounts, that’s to prospect or customer records. Tags can be associated only to the account object, it can not be associated to other object types.

Account only, slightly wonky component
This is a good concept. With a custom object "Tag" and a junction object- "Object Tag", you have the making of a reportable, useful tagging feature. Unfortunately, the only Object associated with the Object Tag is Account. The component could also use some work, but it's a good blueprint- if only we had access to the source code to extend this work.
I am not sure why I cannot directly reply to Kamlesh, but I will write my feedback here. The app does expire when you install it in production. It caused me a lot of additional work since I almost lost all the data. To be more specific it took me three days to build the whole structure from scratch, create automation to identify duplicates and upload the lost data. I have contacted Salesforce support and they could not do much, it is really a pity that we have apps that are promising but they cannot be used on the long term, such as this one. To clarify what happened, when you first install the app in your installation screen, it says it does not expire but after installation, if you check the in install package details it says it is expiring. I feel like I spent too many hours trying to solve this and it is really frustrating when someone says it does not expire when in fact it does. Maybe there should be a more strict process on verifying the apps that are available on apps exchange. Thanks! Andreea
Hi Kaleb, Just an FYI, I had some issues with this app since it comes only in the trial version. I have installed it in my production and when installed it says it does not expire, but if you look at the actual package once installed, you can see the expiration date. Since this app is not supported I could not find a way to extend it so I can use it in my production. By any chance, were you able to find any other apps/resources on how to properly tag records in Salesforce? It would be great if you can share those since I have some difficulties in getting the right thing for my users. Thanks! Andreea
Nice App
Quite a nice app, it allows for tags to be inactivated while being able to report on. Unfortunately, this has expired on the 1st of January and I lost all the data. How can I extend this app further and retrieve the lost data? Thanks! Andreea
Hi Kaleb, Glad you liked the concept. Here is the github repo for you to take it further. https://github.com/kamipatel/TagItApp Thanks, Kam
