ShareMethods’ File Space Saver is a utility that transfers the bodies of your Salesforce documents into a Heroku Postgres database, while file properties continue to be managed in Salesforce. The purpose is to achieve more economical storage for large document collections. File Space Saver may used for documents managed with the companion app Folderize; or for a Salesforce Files collection even if Folderize is not used. It also provides a solution for migrating from SharePoint to Salesforce. There are several unique aspects of this app: ● File permissions are controlled via standard Salesforce sharing settings in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Community Cloud. ● File properties such as comments on documents also live in Salesforce and work normally. You continue to have the option of adding documents to Libraries. ● Your file assets remain under the management and security umbrella of Salesforce, which owns Heroku. ● You control the Heroku database containing your documents, with SQL access to your assets.
