Working After Made Changes Into the utils.js file.

It is working as expected, need to change a utils.js file as below: const DOWNLOAD_PART = ".file.force.com/sfc/servlet.shepherd/document/download/"; //changed here // Returns either an empty string or the org's base video download url export function getBaseVideoUrl(baseUrl) { if (baseUrl) { const domain = baseUrl.split(".")[0]; return `${domain}${DOWNLOAD_PART}`; //changed here } return ""; } Maybe this issue because the domain changed.

It worked when I changed the utils.js as below: const DOWNLOAD_PART = ".file.force.com/sfc/servlet.shepherd/document/download/"; //changed here // Returns either an empty string or the org's base video download url export function getBaseVideoUrl(baseUrl) { if (baseUrl) { const domain = baseUrl.split(".")[0]; return `${domain}${DOWNLOAD_PART}`; //changed here } return ""; }

Has stopped working since Winter 23 went live

We had this working quite well with the Summer 22 release of Salesforce but it seems to have stopped working we think since Winter 23 went into Salesforce on 15th October. Just blinks and then says error loading video. Has anyone got this working with the latest release of Salesforce?

Doesn't even appear in custom-managed components

I've installed this, but unfortunately it doesn't appear in the components section of the lighting app builder.

I found it didn't appear in the components section when I was creating a home page. But when I created a record page it did.

Package not found error

When I try to install this to a sandbox I get a package not found error. Any ideas?

Hi Shreyans, thanks for looking into this, however I am still getting the package not found error as of today.

Hi Margaret, thanks again for trying the app. The installation issue is now resolved. Can you please give it a try again and let us know if you still have any issues? Thanks!

Hi Margaret, thank you for trying Video Viewer. We are sorry that this component does not install on your org. We will look into the issue and let you know. Thanks, Shrey

Hoping we can try again

It was very easy to install and package and set up in Lighting App Builder. Unfortunately, we encountered the same issues as other commenters. Our intent was to use directly on a File page (using a videos already uploaded to a library), but "Attached Videos (0)" kept appearing in the component, indicating that the video wasn't connecting to the app properly. I will watch this site to see if there are any updates. It really would be very useful to finally have native video.

Easy to install, but not reliable

We installed the package both in our Full Sandbox and Production environment. It is very easy to install, however, while it is fine in Sandbox it does not work in Production. After refreshing the page, for a very quick moment a preview of the video file seems to appear, then the error message shows right after that. It was tested in Chrome and Edge with the same results from multiple users. We have the same configuration for Session Settings and CSP trusted sites in both orgs. What kind of additional trusted sites could we add, as stated in a previous comment?

Promising, but doesn't work

Easy to install, however like other users it displays the name of the attached video but does not show the video itself. Currently using Chrome, tried on Edge. Turned off all extensions and still nothing. Seems to be a lot of bugs that have not been rectified or the developer does not know how to fix based on other comments.

Great Feature

Component seems to be not showing up in Partner community to add in the chatter Group only works in internal Org. Is it supported to configure in the partner Community?? TIA

I opened a pull request in github to add a community interface: https://github.com/SalesforceLabs/VideoViewer/pull/7

Hi Shilpa, Thank you for trying this out. At the moment, we do not support this component on Communities. If this changes in the future, we will let you know. Thanks, Shrey

Very useful Component

Seems to be a very nice component, and we really need it in a record page layout. However it is doesnt't open the video (video type is supported by component - mp4) display a error message: "There was an error playing the video." Browser used is Chrome. Do we need to create any URL in CSP trusted sites ?

Hi João, Thanks for your response. I am glad that at least the video name shows up in the component. Most users need not change anything for this component to work. Just curious if you also tried this in another browser ? For example: Firefox? This should work in all browsers, but maybe there is some issue with a chrome extension you might have that could interfere with video playback. Thanks, Shrey

Hello Shreyans, Yes, we see video name in component, and error below "there was an error playing video". Do you have any idea, about what configuration can cause this error ? In Michael Paul comment below, he told about one url configuration in trust sites - CSP. Do you know wich URL we need to add ?

Thanks João! Do you see the title/description of your video file in the component ? I am unable to reproduce this issue on any of my orgs so I am still wondering what is the root cause. It is likely due to some configuration in your org, but I am unable to pin-point it. I would love to fix this issue and make this work for you. Thanks again, Shrey

Hi Shreyans, I've tried with other files, but we get the same problem, no video is displayed. We don't have any trigger or other processes over contentdocument object. Do you have any idea, if there is some setup missing ? Thanks,

Hi João, Thank you for trying Video Viewer. It looks like you installed the component correctly. Were you able to try it with other files? Also, do you have any automation (For example: triggers) on the ContentDocument (Files) object that might be causing issues? We would love to make this component work for you. Thanks again for the feedback. Thanks, Shrey
