Great Experience With JabberJaw
I had great experience on the Jabberjaw app because it served as a solution provider in my organization. In my opinion i am really okay with the interaction on the app and would definitely recommend. Thanks
I can´t access the tutorial & manual
Somehow the link for the documents looks broken (or has changed). https://sfdc.co/JabberJaw Does anyone have this material?
Jabber jaw is great but...
I'd a nice experience with Jabber Jaw because we can connect with our teammates easily. But I feel that we cannot sen notifications or messages to out partner users. I can't insert the Utility Bar on community (Experience Site) There is a way to make it possible? Our project is more for them than to us. Thanks!
Great app, but I feel a language barrier.
The application is very useful in complementing Salesforce functions, but I strongly felt the language barrier because some employees can only type in Japanese. I dream that it will be improved. Hopefully, it can be set up so that Shift+Enter can be used to send.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'd like to clarify the unique aspect of typing in Japanese. In English, you type out the words directly and pressing 'Enter' will naturally send the message. However, when typing in Japanese, it's a two-step process. First, users type out the phonetic version using the Roman alphabet. This is then converted into the desired Japanese characters (Hiragana, Katakana, or Kanji). The 'Enter' key is often used to confirm this conversion and finalize the choice of characters. Given this workflow, Japanese users might accidentally send a message before it's fully converted, if pressing 'Enter' immediately sends the message. My suggestion for the Shift+Enter shortcut is to help prevent this premature sending, allowing users to safely confirm their character conversion with 'Enter' and then deliberately send the message with Shift+Enter. I hope this clarifies the challenge faced by Japanese users. It would be great if an update could be made to accommodate this workflow. Thank you for your understanding.
Hello there, I wonder if you can help me better understand the challenge, since I've no experience writing in Japanese or using a Japanese keyboard. JabberJaw currently sends messages when the user presses 'Enter', but you're suggesting that doesn't work in Japanese. Is that right?
Post to Chatter Functionality Not Working
Hey, first of all a great, useful app-exchange product. Issue - Post to chatter is not at all working. Is there any config that has to be done here? Notification on/off not working Please help me with this
Not able to Add the utility Item
Hi when I go to Appmanager> Utility Items , I didn't find the JabberJaw item. Can you let me know, what could be the reason?
Only working for System Administrators?!
This works fabulously for System Administrators, but isn't working at all for any other profile. When I put the permission set on the user's account, their names appear on my (I'm the admin) messenger user list. But when those users log in and open the messenger through the utility item it just hangs. The six pulsing dots just keep rotating and nothing ever loads. I can carry on conversations with our other sys admin, but nobody else can load the messenger. Is this something I'm missing in my setup or an issue with the app? It seems to work great though between myself and my other sys admin. .... Editing review after figuring out that uninstalling and reinstalling fixed my problem. Works great now. I think it is possible that I installed in initially as only for the System Administrator and when I reinstalled it I chose "Install for all" and it fixed the issue. I would have thought that simply adding the permission set would have taken care of additional users. Reinstalling fixed it though. Thanks!!
Hi Gretchen, glad to hear you've got JabberJaw up and running! If you have any future issues, do let me know. In the meantime, it is possible for you to edit your rating by clicking the Edit Review button on this page (next to the star rating)! I would very much appreciate it if you could update now that it's working Thank you for using JabberJaw!
Facing multiple challenges
Challenge with notification, sometimes toast notification will come but sometimes doesn't. and it'd be good if it's a clickable link that opens the chat thread. Notification sound doesn't come at all. Messages doesn't load in real time as well. Couldn't find how user can send messages to a group of other users. I'm not sure how others are using the app with these challenges. please shed some light if I'm missing any settings as such I'm using the version 0.8
Hi Chetan, Thank you for the review & feedback, please find below my comments to your points: 1. Challenge with notification, sometimes toast notification will come but sometimes doesn't. and it'd be good if it's a clickable link that opens the chat thread. I haven't seen reports of toasts not appearing to date. Are you seeing any pattern to this behaviour? So long as the chat window isn't muted (there's an icon in the menu bar to mute toasts), then these should be coming through. The latter point is an interesting idea. I'd need to workout if this is possible, but I'm certainly happy to explore this feature request and add it to the backlog. 2. Notification sound doesn't come at all. Currently, JabberJaw notifications are toasts only. I have plans to add a sound to this, but not implemented today. I will let you know when this is implemented. 3. Messages doesn't load in real time as well. Message delivery is entirely reliant on Salesforce's Platform Event bus. The time it takes to deliver these can vary, but typically isn't more than a few seconds. If you're not seeing messages appear until you refresh the page, ensure the user has the "Messenger User" permission (see sfdc.co/JabberJaw for the setup instructions if you haven't already) 4. Couldn't find how user can send messages to a group of other users. Group messaging is controlled by the Chatter Groups within your organisation. Any Chatter groups that users are members of will appear in JabberJaw for instant messaging chats - info here sfdc.co/JabberJaw
Great, but something can be improved!
Basically It works very well, but I want to suggest some evolutives: Post to Chatter --> on Case Object Notification --> a sort of alert on the utility item button in order to know if someone sent me a message. The toast notification is useful when I am at the desktop.
Hi Valentino! Thanks very much for the review. Your request for posting to Chatter was one of the most requested features I've received over the past few months. As such, the latest release (available for download now!) supports exporting conversations to the Chatter feed on the Case object now. Hopefully this helps meet the needs of your business! Your latter request is an interesting one; this isn't something I've explored to date, but happy to add this to the roadmap and keep you updated if and when this is added. Thanks again for your suggestions to improve JabberJaw!
Awesome App, but getting some error.
Hi, I love this app. But when I install on utility bar of service console like custom app, its giving LWC error: could you please look into it. [LWC component's @wire target property or method threw an error during value provisioning. Original error: [Method Promise.prototype.then called on incompatible receiver [object Object]]] Component descriptor markup://MHolt:messenger
Hi Vamsee, Thanks for leaving a review! Sorry to hear you're facing an error on your service console. It's the first time I'm hearing of this, could you check all users have the "Messenger User" permission set (See sfdc.co/JabberJaw for more info). If this has been done already, do let me know and I'll reach out to you directly to see if we can get this resolved. Regards, Michael
Hi Yago, whilst I agree that Communities/Experience Cloud would be a great use case for JabberJaw, the Salesforce technology that underpins the messages, Platform Events, are not supported in Communities. Unless/until support for Platform Events is introduced within Communities, JabberJaw simply cannot function in this context.
