Too complicated, doesn't solve the most straight-forward use case
All I want is something that will shorten a URL that is more than 255 characters. My users are pasting SharePoint URLs that are well over 255 characters. Just need something to shorten them so they can use the standard Salesforce field type of URL. This app doesn't do that. I have no idea what it does actually because the configuration is insanely complex. The documentation is not helpful. It looks like it requires a ton of unnecessary tech debt for it to work (why do I need to create fields on the Account to solve a URL on an unrelated custom object).
Fantastic Salesforce tool

Hi John, Thank you for sharing your feedback and use case details. Shortify is fully capable of handling the exact scenario you described — shortening long SharePoint URLs (including URLs well beyond 255 characters) so they can be stored and used easily within Salesforce URL fields. The platform currently supports destination URLs of up to approximately 4,000 characters. From your review, it seems the confusion may have come from the setup documentation and advanced configuration examples. Shortify supports a wide range of enterprise use cases across Salesforce, including automation, campaign tracking, Marketing Cloud integrations, branded domains, analytics, and bulk URL generation. Because of these broader capabilities, some tutorials include advanced implementation scenarios that may not be required for a straightforward URL-shortening use case. For the requirement you mentioned, the setup is actually very lightweight and can typically be completed in a few minutes: Configure a Salesforce Site/Experience Cloud site Select the site in Shortify settings Use the built-in Lightning component or API to generate short URLs directly within Salesforce Also, to clarify, creating Account fields is not a product requirement. Those references were part of example Flow demonstrations intended to showcase automation possibilities within Salesforce. We truly appreciate this feedback, as it helps us improve the onboarding experience and documentation clarity for users looking for simpler implementation paths. Since 2021, Shortify has been helping Salesforce teams with native URL shortening, tracking, automation, and engagement use cases directly within the Salesforce ecosystem. We would be happy to help you configure the simplest possible setup for your specific requirement. Our support team is always available at support@shortify.ing for quick guidance or a walkthrough session. Thank you again for trying Shortify and sharing your experience.
