Tax calls would be made to Vertex if an order is changed – for example: adding or removing items, changing quantities, canceling the order. Each time this happens, a Change Order is created, keeping the original order intact throughout fulfillment.

Salesforce Order Management provides customers a fully automated fulfillment process. Giving customers the ability to visually manage workflows, deliver on complete orders, reach customers across the globe, process payments automatically, and manage cancellations and returns all within your Order Management console. The Order Management product is meant to track an order after it has been placed. For example, after a customer places an order on a B2B site (puts items in a cart, enters shipping and payment information, clicks Submit), then the order can be tracked within the Order Management Console. Vertex provides sales tax calculations based on the ship to address, bill to address, and offers address cleansing services to ensure the correct sales tax amount is charged based on the company's origin address. Vertex for Salesforce Order Management supports Cloud, On-Demand, and On-Premise deployment options while additionally supporting global businesses through VAT transactions. All Vertex integrations for Salesforce are Lightning ready.
