Great app to improve work with sales people on the street.
This is not an app that hold features like salesforce maps for planning or tracking sales or service people on the street, but have this one checkin - out functionality that ends being not only useful per se but it helps a lot in overall adoption of Salesforce, because promotes opening the app on mobile before and after the visit.
Even works with Tasks
Very happy with this app! Solved a big problem and has become a huge feature. The accuracy is a little off but still awesome for a free app.
Enabled Location
Hey, Hi, Can we enable Auto-Capture longitude and lattitude on this package? If yes Then How? I am using from my mobile phone.
i get this error witch is Location information is unavailable.
When I use this component in a Lead record, it directly throws an error: "Location information is unavailable."
Hi Zhihao, this means the geolocation service from your device was unable to get your location. Here's some possible causes and troubleshooting steps: Device's inability to determine location: - The device might be unable to get a GPS fix or determine its location through other means like Wi-Fi or cellular data. - Ensure location services are enabled: Verify that location services are turned on in the device's settings. - Check network connectivity: Ensure Wi-Fi or mobile data is enabled and working, as these can assist in location determination. - Disable Airplane Mode: If Airplane Mode is active, it will prevent location services from functioning. - Move to an open area: If using GPS, ensure there's a clear line of sight to satellites. Internal errors in the positioning hardware or software: - There might be an issue with the device's internal components responsible for geolocation. - Restart the device: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches. - Update device's operating system: Ensure the device's software is up to date, as updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements. Browser-specific issues: - While less common, certain browser configurations or extensions might interfere. - Test in a different browser: See if the issue persists in another web browser. - Check browser settings: Ensure no specific settings or extensions are blocking geolocation access. Secure context requirement: - The Geolocation API, in many modern browsers, requires a secure context (HTTPS) to function. - Ensure the website is served over HTTPS: If developing or testing, ensure the page is accessed via https:// and not http://.
Can I not use this in the community?
I tried using the capture location feature in the community portal. However I got this error: We can't execute this action. Ask your admin to check that the "CheckIn_CMV:getCurrentLocation" Lightning component's client-side controller includes an "invoke" method and that My Domain is enabled and deployed for your org. The posting shows that this is compatible with the Experience cloud. Anything that I'm missing here? I've already given the permission set of Check In Mate - User to the partner community user in question.
I tried to reproduce the issue but couldn't. It's working as expected, on Aura and LWR sites (CS271), without changing anything on the component. I think the best and quickest way to troubleshoot and fix it would be to recreate the Aura lightning component getCurrentLocation using the available open sourced code, and replacing it on the Check In flow. This way you can do any modifications, including implemetning the mentioned interface. The only thing you need to change on the code is on the getCurrentLocationController.js file. For all referenced custom labels, replace $Label.c. => $Label.CheckIn_CMV. Hope it helps!
Can I schedule future visits to customers?
Hi, I'm working an opportunity where the customers needs a checkin solution for their commercial team. They would also like to schedule the visits in advance, can you do this with the APP? Thanks, Max
Excellent!
Hi! I'm using your Check-in Mate app, congratulations on the work. I would like to know if Salesforce Platform API Versions 21.0 through 30.0 Retirement could affect usage? Thanks
Hey Vitor, thanks for the feedback! About the API retirements, it shouldn't impact the solution as it only uses metadata with API Versions > 50.0 You can check the api versions on the source code, available on this same page under More Details -> Resources & Documentation -> Open Source GitHub Repository But highly recommend to test thoroughly end-to-end.
Google Maps API Key
Hi, does this app use Google Maps API Key in order to do check-ins/out?
Hi Jonathan, You do not require a Google API key, since the maps used on the solution makes use of our platform's base component lightning-map https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/component-library/bundle/lightning-map/documentation (There are some important Usage Considerations on that documentation page which I recommend checking out before moving forward) The distance calculation is done on client-side using Haversine Formula in javascript, so also no API used there
Awesome package, I have a few questions
Hi! I'm new with Salesforce so I have to ask, Is some way to change the distance to make an accomplish visit? I see that, by default the package works with a 1 km distance, but I need to work with a 0.1 km distance and I'm a little afraid to mess up with the flow. Any help? Also, If I want to ue the package with a custom Objetc, I'm allow to do so? Thanks for the help.
Hey David, yes you can configure the allowed distance as described on the docs for this package, section "2.7 Set up Compliance Rules for Visits". For the custom object, if by "use the package with a custom Object" you mean to check-in/check-out on a custom object instead of Accounts, yes it's also possible. Section "5. What if I want to Check-In from an Object that's not OOTB?" of the docs The docs are available on this same page, under More Details -> Resources & Documentation.
Excellent for recording visits to your accounts.
