Field Service Duplicate Avoidance Admin Utility

Utility to automate adding external ID fields for duplicate avoidance.

Overview

Aids in adding a new custom field to selected objects and also updates a permission set to give users access to this field. Salesforce Field Service will utilize this field to avoid duplicate record creations.

  • Adds a new custom field, SFS_External_ID__c, which defines a non-required, indexed, unique external id field to selected objects.

  • Updates permission set that grants mobile users access to this new field.

  • Allows admin to selectively assign the new permission set to users.

This is an admin-only tool that aids in adding the new custom field to selected objects and to help the admin grant access to the new fields for mobile users.
