Month wise frequency does not work
Only if I select Day in the range frequency it starts showing calendar entries in the calendar component. If I select Month it does not show the component at all in the experience cloud page.
Translation Workaround for Event Calendar?
Thank you for building the event calendar for Experience Cloud — I’ve set it up, and it’s working great! Our site is multilingual, and I noticed there doesn’t appear to be any support for translations via custom labels. Have you come across any workarounds for this, or are there any plans to support custom labels in future updates? Thanks again for creating this app — it’s a fantastic addition!
Register button not showing up in the event details
The documentation is not clear on how to make the register button show up in the exp cloud site. The community user is able to see the event in the calendar. However, the user cannot register for the event since they don't see the register button.
Great baseline functionality
Solved our use case nearly 100%. Would be made even better if you could enable a user-facing filter on the Calendar utilizing the WhoID or WhatID. This would solve for us having to have multiple calendars.
Can you create an event longer than 14 days
Loved all the detail but was trying to find a solution to the salesforce limitation of only having consecutive 14 days for an event. Anyone find a solution for this?
Promising app, but not sure if it works with public resources/public calendars?
I love that this app gives us more features than the default calendar component. However, I'm having trouble getting a public resource calendar to show up. I know that the calendar is accessible to my partner community users because when I use the standard calendar component, they're able to search and select the public calendar and see my test event under that calendar. I've tried filtering specifically for the calendar (using the owner id filter) and leaving all of the filters blank - nothing shows up.
Thanks, George! I guess my question is how I'm supposed to set the related to filter on the calendar component. The documentation makes it seem like I can only enter in one ID there. In our scenario we have 3 groups of users...group A sees campaign A, group B sees campaign B, and group C should see campaigns B and C. I'm currently using the related to filter for the first two scenarios by pointing it to a specific campaign.
Hi Jessica! Yes it is possible, and it's really less of a calendar component feature and more of a sharing function. So you would just need to create another campaign, and share it with that subset of users, and they will be able to see events from both campaigns they have access to.
Thanks, George! I got it to work by just relating events to a specific campaign and setting up sharing rules to reveal that one campaign to my community users. Is it possible for the calendar component to show events related to multiple records? In our use case we want a certain subset of users to be able to see all of the events normal users do (all grouped under a single campaign) PLUS another set of events only for this subset (which would be in another campaign).
So at a high level, nothing in this app interferes with record access to Event (Activity) object. If the user has access to an Event record, they will see it on the calendar. There are a couple of things that may occur: 1. If you see a blank component (no calendar even renders) then you have a problem with your user's access to the Apex Controller for the component. You can fix that by granting them access to the Apex Controller via profile or perm set. 2. If you do see the component render a calendar, but the calendar is blank, then it's a record / FLS access problem. Ensure your user profile or perm set is granting them FLS access to all the relevant Event object fields. If the issue persists, then it's a record access problem. Best way to setup these events is to relate them to records that your partner users have access to. Example, you might create a "Campaign" record and give everyone access to it, and then tie all your event records to that campaign record. This will give them all access to the event records because they have access to that campaign record. Hope this helps.
Looks great but need two features - mobile compatible and hard code dates for list view
We like this component a lot but it needs a little work to be mobile app compatible. The header with the time period and the buttons need to be reworked. Additionally, the list view is great to showcase an events schedule but we need to be able to hard code dates. It always defaults to today's date.
So close to making it work...
I'm sort of new to building Experience Sites, but this just seemed so easy to make work, out of the box - and it has a very nice look and intuitive feel to it. I simply don't have the "Public" checkbox though and can't figure out if I need to enable it somehow? I have a few active sites, that I build through our Service Cloud license, but we don't actually have Experience Cloud - is that the reason? Or am I missing something else?
So many use-cases, fairly customizable, and easy to get setup
If you are not an expert Salesforce developer/admin, then you will struggle with this app. It's really customizable, especially regarding permissions and the UI, but that means you need to be well-versed in Salesforce's core security tools and the Activities&Events data model. That said, I got a functional prototype up-and-running from scratch in no more than 2 hours. That includes a new Experience Cloud guest user site, the Events themselves, and all the necessary permissions. Great App for Calendar in Experience Cloud
please add an option to choose default display (Month/day/week/list) for the users
Do you really even need the filter? If you are controlling who has access to what via sharing, then in theory you don't need the filter - users will see what you've given them access to see.
