Introduced numerous unexpected changes to our system
The backup process seemed fine but a test restore completely messed up all our flows, workflow rules, validation rules, surveys and triggers. Apparently these are all disabled for a restore by the product but active items did not get re-enabled successfully on completion with the result being that some previously disabled items were enabled and visa versa. When raised with Syscloud we were told this was a salesforce api bug and to raise it with them. They then provided us with a 21 page list of all items that had been disabled and left us to it. Very poor software and shocking service.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re truly sorry for the difficulties you encountered with the restore process. We understand how disruptive it can be when something doesn’t work as expected, and we apologize for any frustration this caused. Due to Salesforce’s limitations, restoring data requires temporarily disabling active workflows. Our usual approach is to turn off workflows, complete the restore, and then re-enable them—a process we’ve tested extensively without issues. However, in your case, an unexpected Salesforce error prevented the workflows from reactivating automatically. To prevent this in the future, we’re updating our process. From now on, disabling and re-enabling workflows will be a manual step, giving you control over these actions and ensuring full transparency. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We’re committed to improving and hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
