Perfect for seeding randomized data
Love this app so far. I like that it's not "take data from one environment and put it in another environment" as most other seeding tools are - it's truly randomized and extremely flexible. There is a learning curve - if you are doing more than basic seeding you'll need to be an advanced/experienced admin - but once you grasp it, it's great. One thing I love is the ability to export/import recipes. So you can build and test a recipe in a sandbox, export, then import into another environment with Mockstar. Only complaint is that it would be nice if they had a little more documentation, but for a free tool as powerful as this I'm not going to dock them for it.
Looks very powerful, but current version is broken
This looks really powerful and useful, but unfortunately in the current version, after editing and running one of the example recipes, I can no longer save changes to recipes or create new recipes.
Very useful but has some limitations
Mockstar has proved to be very useful in seeding sandboxes with data. There is a bit of a learning curve to using the app, but once over that hurdle it's reasonably quick to build recipes. When populating complex data models with lots of lookup fields it would be useful to be able to chain recipes, as having to run multiple recipes one at a time is tedious. The only significant issue I've encountered is the inability to populate multi-select picklist fields. I've not found any reference in the documentation to this limitation.
Great!
Great app to generate data , we use it to generate data after a sandbox refresh. The great thing about it is that you can relate all the records (in our case lookups across 9 different objects) and store the recipe so you can use it all over again. Easy in use and quick and professional support !
