The Apex quick start tutorial is a basic example that shows how to create a trigger and a class, and how to test your Apex code. It uses a custom object called Book. The Shipping Invoice example is an advanced example and is in the Appendix of the Force.com Apex Code Developer’s Guide. It contains triggers to calculate the total invoice including shipping cost and tax, and uses two custom objects: Shipping_Invoice and Item. Also, it includes a test class that covers different testing scenarios. This package also includes an app and a custom tab.
